Streptococco è il nome col quale indichiamo un genere di batteri Gram+ che abita normalmente nel nostro organismo (cavo orale ed intestino) e solo quando la sua carica diventa troppo elevata, può causare diverse patologie. Quello più frequente, quello che più spesso sentiamo nominare in quanto causa dei mal di gola con febbre dei nostri bambini è lo STREPTOCOCCO β-EMOFILICO A. Questo specifico tipo di streptococco può essere causa di: faringite, tonsillite, scarlattina, polmonite, febbre reumatica ed impetigine. Il TEST STREP-A (GIMA) è un test rapido per la determinazione qualitativa dell’antigene dello Streptococco A, così che avendo certezza sulla diagnosi, il pediatra o il medico, può prescrivere un trattamento antibiotico appropriato.
E’ possibile contenere il proliferare dello streptococco con l’assunzione di integratori che sostengono le normali difese immunitarie dell’organismo favorendone la fisiologica funzione protettrice in presenza di questo o altri batteri o virus.
